In Drupal we have a few areas / modules / eco-systems that require complex configuration.

Example are:

  • ECA
  • Migration
  • AI Agents / AI Workflow
  • Views
  • others

Can the ECA UI be used for non-ECA purposes?

The proposal

Mapping components from modules to UI

  • ECA:
    • Events
    • Conditions
    • Actions
  • Migrate:
    • Source
    • Process
    • Destination
  • AI:
    • Agents
    • Functions

The way forward

  • New module Modeler API (dgo.to/modeler_api)
  • New 3.0.x branches for ECA and BPMN
  • Move all generic parts out of ECA and BPMN into Modeler API
  • Then build up from there for other modules (Migrate, AI, etc.)
  • Then optimize the UI – what’s BPMN today can be improved or replaced
